  • Habibat Ogunbanwo OLY

    Habibat Ogunbanwo was born in Lagos, Nigeria and moved with her family to Australia at the age of four. Over the years, Habibat discovered her passion for serving others and taking on new challenges. Her passion was exemplified through her sporting endeavour - where she was fortunate to represent Nigeria at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics in which she broke numerous national records. Moreover, she currently works at the largest youth organisation in the world where she engages with children and young people to provide safe spaces and a community of belonging and learning.

    In her spare time, Habibat enjoys reading, baking and travelling.

  • Efon Luwala

    Efon Luwala is student currently completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Canberra, studying a Bachelor of Arts (Global Studies) and a Bachelor of Politics & International Relations. Through which she hopes to continue pursuing research centring the African Australian female experience. Her interests in literature and politics has led her to opportunities to work amongst like minded African Australian peers and well-celebrated academics within Australian tertiary institutions. She hopes to use her writing to channel the overdue inclusion of African Australian writers and artists within the Australian and international literary scene.

  • Shaza Hamed

    Shaza is an Eritrean university student born in Melbourne but now based in Adelaide. Her family originally came to Australia to further their studies after being displaced to Sudan, Egypt and Saudia Arabia.

    She is currently in her second year of university at Flinders, studying a Bachelor of Health Science, specialising in Vision Science with a Master of Optometry, as a double degree program.

    After experiencing the Australian schooling system, Shaza hopes to be witness and contribute to positive change for future generations offered throughout this project.
